Teen girl hit and killed by car on busy A-road sparking massive closure as cops appeal for dashcam footage

A TEENAGE girl has been killed after being struck by a car on a major A-road as cops launch an urgent appeal.

Essex Police were called to the horror on the A12, at Colchester, at around 7pm on Tuesday.

Officers responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.

Emergency services tragically pronounced a girl in her late teens dead at the scene.

Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
