Mets Complete Four Game Sweep Of St. Louis
The New York Mets jumped into the storage closet and busted out the brooms as they swept the St. Louis Cardinals out of Citi Field 7-3 and improved to 15-7 on the season. This is good for first place in the National League East.
Clay Holmes continued his transition into the starting rotation and delivered another stellar outing, tossing six innings with six strikeouts, surrendering just four hits, two walks, and one earned run. This marked the first time Holmes completed six full innings in a Mets uniform.
