Mortgage rates up, making housing more expensive
Media often has problems stating the obvious, but CNN has no difficulty placing blame for spiking mortgage rates: "President Donald Trump's scattered approach to tariffs and an escalating trade war with China."
The average rate on a standard, 30-year fixed mortgage was 6.83% in the week ending April 17, up from 6.62% a week ago, mortgage financing provider Freddie Mac said Thursday.
