Karla Sofia Gascon Lands First Role After Resurfaced Tweet Controversy, Will Star in 'The Life Lift'

Karla Sofia Gascon has landed her first role after her controversial social media posts resurfaced.

If you didn’t know, in January, Karla‘s tweets about the George Floyd protests, among numerous other topics, resurfaced. The backlash caused Netflix to pull back its support for her after she was nominated for Best Actress for Emilia Perez at the 2025 Oscars. She has since apologized for the posts.

Now, the 53-year-old actress will star in an upcoming psychological thriller called The Life Lift.
