Gowanda man dead after fatal crash on Seneca Nation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Gowanda man and his dog died in a fatal car crash on Tuesday on Seneca Nation territory, the Erie County Sheriff's Office announced.

Christopher Nicholson, 47, was driving a vehicle southbound on Versailles Plank Road when it left the road and went into a wooded area, officials said.

Nicholson and his dog were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
