Do tanning drops really work?

What’s your experience with tanning drops — do they work as well as self-tanner? And will they work no matter what product I mix them into?

The idea of tanning drops pleases me to no end. You get a kiss of sunny color — a soupçon, nothing overdone! — without the usual self-tanning rigamarole. Just drizzle them in your regular moisturizer and apply.
