Man charged in suspected Livermore road-rage shooting

LIVERMORE — A 26-year-old Oakley man has been arrested and charged in a road-rage related shooting last month that left a man he apparently did not know wounded, according to authorities and court records.

The suspect, Demarionte Smith, was arrested April 1 in Seattle, Wash. by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force.

He has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and assault with a firearm, as well as numerous sentencing enhancements.
