Uttar Pradesh: Wedding called off after heated argument during ‘Joota Churai’ ritual

A wedding in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, was canceled due to a dispute during the 'joota churai' ritual. The bride's sister asked for Rs 15,000 for the groom's shoes. The groom's family offered only Rs 2,100, leading to a major argument. Police intervened but failed to resolve the issue. This is the second such incident in Bijnor within a week.
