Man fatally shot in Downtown Long Beach

LONG BEACH — A man was fatally shot in downtown Long Beach on Saturday, close to the area where the Grand Prix of Long Beach was taking place.

The shooting was reported just before 6 p.m. Saturday near the 0 block of Cedar Walk, broadcast reports said.

That’s north of Seaside Way, which was closed for the investigation, and west of Pacific Avenue.

Responding officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds and paramedics then transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
