Finland urges US to set roadmap for any European troop shift

Finnish Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen has called for a formalised U.S. roadmap to guide any potential withdrawal of American forces from Europe, warning that an uncoordinated shift could expose the continent to increased security risks.

Speaking to POLITICO following a meeting of EU defence ministers in Warsaw, Häkkänen said Europe must avoid a “window of opportunity for Russia to try something” if Washington reallocates military resources to the Indo-Pacific.
