'Saturday Night Live' announces UK version featuring 'funniest British comedians around'

"Saturday Night Live" is heading across the pond, with a new U.K. version of the late-night sketch comedy show poised to hit airwaves next year.

"A star-studded lineup of hosts will take to the stage to declare, 'Live from London, it’s Saturday Night!' in this brand-new edition of the program," Sky, a European entertainment giant, announced Thursday.

Just like the U.S. show, "SNL" creator Lorne Michaels will executive produce the program airing in the U.K.
