Australia turns down China's offer to 'join hands' to fight US tariffs
Australia has rejected China's proposal to collaborate on countering U.S. tariffs, with Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles emphasizing that Australia will focus on diversifying its trade and reducing reliance on China. While China’s ambassador suggested that Australia join forces with Beijing to defend the global trading system, Marles stated that Australia would pursue its national interests by strengthening trade relations with the EU, Indonesia, India, Britain, and the Middle East.
