Finland exceeds annual natural resource limit

Residents of Finland will have consumed their annual share of the planet’s renewable natural resources by Sunday, 6 April, according to calculations by the Global Footprint Network and the World Wildlife Fund.

The date, known as Finland’s Overshoot Day, marks the point at which consumption outpaces the Earth’s ability to regenerate natural resources and absorb emissions.
