India, UAE to develop Sri Lanka energy hub as Delhi competes with China for influence

India, UAE, and Sri Lanka signed a pact to develop an energy hub in Trincomalee during Indian PM Narendra Modi's visit, enhancing India's competition with China's energy projects in Sri Lanka. The deal involves constructing a multi-product pipeline, possibly using an old tank farm. India also inaugurated a solar power project and concluded debt restructuring talks with Sri Lanka.
