German businesses remain downbeat as 2025 approaches

Only one in eight companies in Germany expect their business situation to improve in 2025, according to a survey published by the ifo Institute. The findings point to continued pessimism across key sectors of the economy following a weak performance in 2024.

Just 12.6 percent of companies foresee better business conditions next year. In contrast, 31.3 percent anticipate a deterioration, while 56.1 percent expect no significant change.
