Opelousas woman charged with murder in connection with fentanyl overdose

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- An Opelousas woman has been charged with murder after allegedly supplying drugs used for a fatal overdose of fentanyl in August, authorities said.

Raketia Nicole Tyler, 35, of Opelousas, is charged with second degree murder, and is being held in the St. Landry Parish jail.

Officials said the overdose occurred in the 800 block of Lemoine Drive Aug, 27, when Opelousas Police officers responded to a medical emergency and discovered a female victim unresponsive inside an apartment.
