SC asks Mahua Moitra to urge SEBI for greater transparency in financial markets

The Supreme Court has directed Mahua Moitra to approach SEBI for seeking transparency in financial markets by mandating public disclosure of ultimate beneficial owners of AIFs and FPIs. Lack of disclosure norms for these investment vehicles poses risks to market integrity and economic stability, Moitra argued.
