Railways breaks freight loading, revenue records for 4th year

In fiscal 2025, Indian Railways achieved record freight loading of over 1.61 billion tonnes and surpassed US in freight carried annually, earning ₹2.62 lakh crore in revenue. Despite a record number of passengers, it did not meet its ₹80,000 crore revenue target, but achieved significant coal transport, improving the availability at thermal power plants.
