Puerto Rico Protests Against Higher Ed Cuts Follow Long Fight Against Austerity

This February, President Luis A. Ferrao Delgado of the University of Puerto Rico resigned after attempting to suspend 64 educational programs. The measure targeted core disciplines such as history, philosophy and comparative literature, stunning the university community and provoking bitter opposition.
