Spirit Airlines re-launching Austin-Detroit route that it last operated in 2023

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines will begin nonstop flights between Austin and Detroit this summer.

The airline will launch the route on June 12, with flights operating four times each week. The route is a resumption of service for Spirit; it last flew between AUS and DTW in August 2023.

Tickets will go on sale Thursday, an airline spokesperson told KXAN. Detroit will be Spirit's sixth nonstop route from Austin.
