The Ministry of Education has announced the official start of the 1404 academic year across Afghanistan.
However, girls’ schools for students above sixth grade remain closed, and the fate of their reopening remains uncertain.
During a ceremony marking the occasion in Kabul, Habibullah Agha, the acting Minister of Education, stated that the curriculum content of schools would be reviewed, and topics contradicting “Afghanistan culture and traditions” would be removed from the educational syllabus.
