Avalanche alert issued for high altitude areas in five districts of Himachal

An avalanche alert was issued for high-altitude areas in five districts of Himachal Pradesh by the Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment. Alerts vary from unsafe to partly unsafe conditions depending on the district. Police in Lahaul and Spiti have advised caution for commuters near the Rohtang Tunnel. Light rain and snow are predicted in certain areas over the next two days.
