Demonstrators gathered along Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael on Friday to protest cuts to federal veterans’ programs.
The rally on the grounds of the Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium at the Civic Center was among many held across the nation. Organizers said they are pushing back against Trump administration changes to programs at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies that provide assistance to former service members.
Approximately 8,000 military veterans live in Marin, according to the county.
