Changes to poll rules: Supreme Court seeks responses from Centre and ECI
The Supreme Court has sought responses from the Centre and Election Commission on a plea by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh challenging amendments to the Conduct of Election Rules. The modifications prevent public access to certain electronic documents, including CCTV footage and video recordings of candidates, to avoid misuse. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi questioned the rationale behind these changes.
