A MAJOR UK train station has been evacuated as “smoke was seen rising from platforms” sparking travel chaos for thousands of passengers.

Four platforms at London Waterloo have been evacuated following reports of a “small fire”.

Waterloo is one of the capital’s busiest stations with almost 200,000 passengers using it each day.

Lines have since been reopened but trains could be cancelled, delayed, or revised until 10:30am today.
