Govt releases tax devolution of Rs 1.73 lk cr to states to accelerate capital spending

The Union Government released tax devolution of Rs 1,73,030 crore to state governments in January 2025, nearly doubling the amount from December 2024. This increased allocation aims to expedite capital spending and support development and welfare projects. Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh are among the major beneficiaries.
