Kansas school district will be closed Friday

GEARY COUNTY (KSNT) - A northeast Kansas school district has announced it will be closed Friday, marking a full week of school missed for students at the start of 2025.

Matt Hoover with USD 475 announced in a press release on Jan. 9 that the district will be closed on Friday, Jan. 10. All school activities scheduled for the day are canceled.

Hoover said the closure decision came after the recent weather forecast showed the possibility of more snow coming to northeast Kansas.
