APD investigating 2nd homicide of the year after body found in east Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Austin Police Department detectives are investigating the second homicide of 2025 after a body was found at an apartment complex in east Austin overnight.

APD officers responded to a call around 1:44 a.m. that reported a body lying in a pool of blood at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Manor Road.

Police said during a press briefing early Thursday that officers found the person "with trauma to the neck," and the person was pronounced dead on the scene.
