AUSTIN (KXAN) – A new report shows that over 1,000 unhoused people died from 2018 to 2023, according to a release from the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO).
ECHO released Wednesday the Bridging for Better Outcomes report, which was the result of collecting and analyzing six years of data from various entities to get a comprehensive look at who and how people are dying on Austin streets.
“[The data] was hard to see,” said Danica Fraher, the health care systems manager for ECHO.
