The 49ers fire special teams coordinator Brian Schneider, AP source says

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers fired special teams coach Brian Schneider following a season when repeated blunders in the kicking contributed to a losing season, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Monday night.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team hadn’t announced the firing.
