Punjab bus services hit as contractual employees of Punjab Roadways, PRTC begin 3-day strike

Contractual employees of Punjab Roadways and Pepsu Road Transportation Corporation started a three-day strike to demand job regularisation and salary hikes. Around 2,800 buses stayed off the roads, and around 8,000 employees participated. Demonstrations are being held at 27 bus depots. A meeting with the transport minister did not resolve their demands.
