NEW YORK (PIX11) – A New York county that hadn't been flying flags at half-staff following former President Jimmy Carter's death announced on Sunday it's planning to do so.
"The flags in Nassau County will be at half-staff for President Carter from the commencement of Lying in State on January 7th through burial on January 9th," Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said in a statement to PIX11 News.

The executive was accused by a lawmaker of refusing to fly flags at half-staff.
