Adam Schiff sworn in for six-year term as a U.S. senator for California

After being sworn in for a six-year term, Burbank Democrat Adam Schiff set a record for being the only senator in the history of the U.S. Senate to have taken the oath of office three separate times in less than one month.

Sen. Alex Padilla accompanied Schiff on the Senate floor as he took the oath of office Friday morning. After the ceremony, Schiff issued a statement in which he described his role as an “honor of a lifetime.”
