Have you ever had someone show you one of their favorite movies only to have them start sobbing as soon as they hit “Play?” That’s what happened to me. I was 20 and had only been seeing this person for a month. At first I gave their steady stream of heavy tears the side-eye. Why are you crying? Nothing has happened yet. But, by the end of those 89 minutes, I was an emotional wreck. Devastated. Forever changed. If I had been watching that movie for a second time, I would have been crying from the start right along with them.
