Lessenberry: Michigan lawmakers flunking political science

LANSING — Bill Ballenger is a legendary, unique figure in Michigan. The dean of political pundits, he was also a state party chair at 25, served as a Republican in both houses of the legislature before he was 30, and was an assistant cabinet secretary for President Gerald Ford before most of today’s reporters were born.
