Cliftonville footballer Michael Newberry dies aged 27

Cliftonville footballer Michael Newberry has died at the age of 27.

The former Northern Ireland youth international – who started his career at Newcastle – won two Irish Premiership titles with Linfield.

In a statement, Cliftonville said they were “devastated” to learn about his “sudden” death.

Monday night’s games involving his old clubs have been postponed.
