The New England Patriots suffered a lopsided Week 17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, but the health and safety of quarterback Drake Maye was of the utmost importance.

Maye took the field in New England’s brisk winter temperature at Gillette Stadium and quickly found himself in an injury tent. The 22-year-old took a hit from Chargers cornerback Cam Hart during Maye’s first drive of the contest, which left him on the ground for a few seconds and caused him to miss New England’s following offensive drive.
