Govt asks imported coal-based power plants to run at full capacity till Feb 28

The government has extended the directive for imported coal-based power plants to operate at full capacity until February 28. This is to meet rising electricity demand. There are 15 such plants with a total capacity of around 17 GW. Ministries of power and coal are discussing ways to reduce costs by including domestic coal.
