ST. MARY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell wants to remind people where and when fireworks can be used as the new year approaches.
According to the parish ordinance, fireworks are only approved in unincorporated areas of the parish such as Amelia, Bayou Vista, Calumet, and Four Corners.
The designated times they can be popped are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. from now until Jan.1.
Driskell wants everyone to be mindful of their neighbors while celebrating New Year's.
