Centre approves memorial space for former PM Dr Manmohan Singh

The central government has confirmed plans to allocate a space for a memorial honouring former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who passed away at 92. Dr Singh's last rites will be held with full state honours at New Delhi's Nigambodh Ghat on December 28. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had requested a memorial at the cremation site to commemorate Dr Singh’s legacy. Known for his pivotal role in India's economic transformation, Dr Singh's contributions as a statesman are globally acknowledged.
