Big change in education rules: Govt scraps 'no-detention policy' for classes 5 and 8 students who fail to clear year-end exams
The central government has decided to discontinue the 'no-detention policy' for students in classes 5 and 8 in its schools. Students who fail year-end exams will now be held back. Sixteen states and two Union Territories had already implemented this change. Failing students will receive additional instruction and a re-examination opportunity.
