Good morning, Mets fans!
According to YES Network’s Jack Curry, the Yankees have signed first baseman Paul Goldschmidt to a one-year deal. In 599 at-bats last season, the 2022 MVP slashed only .245/.302/.414/.716.
Jeff Passan of ESPN also reported first baseman Carlos Santana and the Guardians are in agreement on a one-year, $12 million contract, pending physical. Over 150 games last season, Santana batted .238/.328/.420/.749.
That’s one more first base option off the board with Pete Alonso still available.
