SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A fire on Genesee Street in Schenectady left the home with heavy fire, smoke, and water damage on Tuesday. Schenectady Fire Chief Donald Mareno said the fire happened around 10:30 p.m. and when crews arrived there was a heavy fire on the first floor.

No one was found inside the home when crews entered, but they found out that a family of four and some cats lived there.
