Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in Uttarakhand from January 2025: CM Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) starting January 2025. Following extensive preparations, including the formation of an expert committee and the passage of the UCC Bill 2024, Uttarakhand will be the first state to enact the UCC after independence. The law aims to empower women and children and promote inclusive development.
