Champlain Hudson Power Express contractor hits sewer line in Coxsackie

COXSACKIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On Thursday around 7:15 p.m., a Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) power line contractor Kiewit struck the sewer main at the viaduct on Mansion Street. Repairs are ongoing Friday afternoon, as sewage discharge continues.

CHPE, is a 339-mile underground and underwater high-voltage electric line expected to deliver up to 1,250 megawatts of hydroelectric power from Québec to New York City.
