Lansing inmate sentenced for attacking prison guard in 2023

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- An inmate at the Lansing Correctional Facility is sentenced after attacking a corrections officer back in 2023.

Justin Pierce, 41, was sentenced on Friday, Dec. 6, in Leavenworth County court to 10 years and 10 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Back in October, a jury found Pierce guilty of battery against a law enforcement officer. He was originally charged with two counts of battery, however, one count was dropped.
