NYPD officer shot in Jamaica, Queens: police
JAMAICA, Queens (PIX11) – An NYPD officer was shot while trying to arrest an armed robbery suspect in Jamaica, Queens Tuesday evening, police said.
The shooting happened near Jamaica Avenue and 161st Street around 6:30 p.m., according to NYPD officials.

The suspect was wanted for allegedly committing two armed robberies within an hour Tuesday evening at a deli at 164-01 Hillside Ave. and a smoke shop at 92-18 Guy R Brewer Blvd., according to police.
