Lori Chavez-DeRemer touted for US Labor Secretary

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Lori Chavez-DeRemer, who recently lost her bid for re-election to Oregon's 5th Congressional District, is being touted as the new Labor Secretary in the upcoming Trump Administration.

Initially reported by Politico, KOIN 6 News independently confirmed Chavez-DeRemer has the support of Teamsters President Sean O'Brien. Teamsters spokesperson Kara Deniz told KOIN 6 News, "I can confirm" O'Brien is supporting the Oregon Republican to lead the labor department.
