NEW YORK (PIX11) – PATH train riders could see a fare hike in the new year.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is proposing to increase the fare from $2.75 to $3 on Jan. 12. It would be the first PATH fare increase in 10 years.

The agency is also looking to add 72 new railcars to the PATH network and have the new tap-and-go fare system fully operational by the end of next year.
