Foreign media have reported that a bus transporting wedding guests home plunged into a river in northern Pakistan, resulting in at least 14 fatalities.

Al Jazeera reported that the bus veered off the road and fell into the Indus River in the Gilgit-Baltistan region around 1:00 AM local time.

Local officials stated that the passengers were returning from a wedding ceremony when the driver lost control due to excessive speed, causing the bus to skid off the road.
